Misty Young, PA-C Primary Care & Internal Medicine in Georgetown, TX
Meet Your Local Georgetown Primary Care Provider
Hi — I’m Misty Young. Before I say anything else, I just want to tell you this: I’m really glad you’re here.
If you’ve ever left a doctor’s office feeling rushed, unheard, or like you were “just another appointment,” I understand how discouraging that can be. That is not how I practice. To me, you’re not a number. You’re a person — with a story, worries, goals, and people who love you. That’s the kind of care I believe in, and it’s a big reason I feel so at home at Wellness Bay.
My Story
A Hometown Heart: Born and Raised in Georgetown, Texas
I was born and raised right here in Georgetown, Texas. This is my hometown—it’s where I grew up, where my family still lives, and where I’ve built my own life. After graduating from Georgetown High School, I attended Mississippi State University as a collegiate volleyball player. That season of my life taught me commitment, teamwork, and resilience—lessons that still guide my medical practice today.
I earned my Physician Assistant degree from the prestigious University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. I am board-certified by the NCCPA and licensed in Texas. In 2007, I followed my heart back home to Georgetown, and I’ve been serving this community ever since.
19 Years of Internal Medicine & Hospitalist Experience
For nearly two decades, I served as a hospitalist at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple. I cared for patients on some of the toughest days of their lives. That kind of work changes you.
While I am an expert in Internal Medicine, my time in the hospital made me "tender" toward people. It reminded me that when someone is sick, they don’t just need medicine; they need a calm voice, clarity, and a provider who won’t dismiss them.
Why I Chose Outpatient Primary Care
My hospital experience showed me that so many crises could be prevented if a provider had the time to slow down, listen, and catch things early. That’s why I joined Wellness Bay. Outpatient care gives me the chance to build long-term relationships and help you stay well—not just treat you when things fall apart.
My Clinical Expertise & Focus Areas: As a provider with deep experience in high-acuity care, I specialize in managing complex conditions often sought in Internal Medicine and Geriatric care, including:
-
Chronic Disease Management: High blood pressure (hypertension), Diabetes, and High Cholesterol.
-
Geriatric Concerns: Dizziness, falls, anemia, and kidney health.
-
Preventative Health: Heart and lung health, infection prevention, and medication management.
-
Acute Care: Dehydration, infections, and sudden illness.
A Physician-Led Team You Can Trust
At Wellness Bay, I work closely with Dr. Mohammad Al Darawsha. I am proud to be part of a physician-led practice where collaboration is real. If your health needs are complex, we talk. We work together to ensure you feel supported and cared for every step of the way.
Life Outside the Clinic
Outside the clinic, I’m married to my college sweetheart, Chris Young. We have two very active children, Cade and Addison, who compete in high-level sports. You’ll usually find me cheering them on, traveling with my family, or enjoying a good book.
Caring for patients in my hometown means the world to me. You’re my neighbors. If you are looking for a female primary care provider in Georgetown who treats you like family, I look forward to meeting you.
